About

Introduction

The Erasmus+ EMS project seeks to tackle the challenges of teaching and learning Mathematics in English. Many students and teachers, despite being proficient in English, struggle with specific terminologies and concepts when learning or teaching Mathematics. To bridge this gap, the EMS project will produce tools like an Open Educational Resource (OER) and a mobile app. Disseminating these outputs widely is crucial for ensuring their adoption and sustainability. This dissemination plan outlines the steps to raise awareness and ensure the sustainability of the project results.

Project Summary

The EMS project is focused on providing resources to support students and teachers who study or teach Mathematics in English. By developing an OER platform and a mobile app, the project aims to help them better understand mathematical terminology in both their native languages and English.

Objectives:

We would like to support students and teachers having difficulties whilem teaching / learning Maths in English due to their lack of enough langauge capacity although they seem that they are fluent in English. Thanks to this project, We will create a valuable source for students and teachers having had to study in a foreign country due to different reasons. EMS aims to fill an avoided gap in language teaching by putting an Innovative Approach to Langauge teaching already.

Results:

We are aiming to create an OER and a Mobile App with lots of educative materials to increase the success of students in Maths lessons while studying it in English by supporting them through materials covering mother tongue and English versions of common structures of MAtehmatics. Thus;
We would like to;

  • increase the success of students in Maths in English
  • improve their language levels
  • creat a source of environment for educators and students
  • decrease the number of failure and drop outs.
